Our client, a well-established and effective charity in Hampshire are currently recruiting for a Fundraising Manager to join their successful team in a brand new position for the charity.

You will be an experienced fundraiser with a strong, mixed fundraising background and the ability to develop and implement an effective fundraising strategy to include corporate, community, individuals, trusts and events etc.  The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, enthusiastic team player and a key ambassador for the charity.

 

Fundraising Manager Duties Include:

  1. Developing successful fundraising strategies and plans
  2. Developing new income sources – e.g. legacy fundraising
  3. Creating and developing regional fundraising teams and events
  4. Take the lead on engaging corporate support and partnerships to develop relationships and income
  5. Managing the fundraising income and expenditure budgets, forecast and reports to the Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications
  6. Keeping abreast of fundraising law and operational procedures, ensuring the fundraising team meet these requirements
  7. Act as the main fundraising contact for the Charity
  8. Attend events and give talks and presentations, helping to support and raise the profile of the charity
  9. There will be a requirement to have regular communication with other members of staff, Board Members, external stakeholders as well as volunteers
  10. Work with the Communications Team to effectively promote activity for use in PR as well as social media platforms
  11. Management of the fundraising team
  12. Motivate and manage staff to ensure they achieve their potential in line with the Trust’s policies and objectives, to include management and completion of the Appraisal Process
  13. Support, manage, develop & cultivate any volunteers in accordance with the Volunteer Handbook and in liaison with the Volunteer Co-ordinator

Fundraising Manager Skills Required:

  1. Proven ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations and reports, engaging a wide range of audiences in large groups or individual settings producing positive outcomes
  2. Well developed ability to build, manage and develop relationships with donors and supporters
  3. Ability to identify conflicting demands and establish clear priorities in order to meet agreed objectives
  4. Proven ability of fundraising in the corporate sector and an understanding of CSR responsibilities
  5. A highly motivated individual who is able to work well on their own initiative, as well as part of a team
  6. Excellent time management skills
  7. Good negotiation skills
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  9. A demonstrable structured and proactive approach to work
  10. Ability to project manage and plan financially
  11. IT self-sufficient – knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and Raisers Edge or similar donor database system
  12. Proven track record of achieving income in excess of £150k from the corporate sector
  13. Experience of developing an on-going programme of research and development, identifying new fundraising opportunities and market competitors
  14. Prior experience of managing a fundraising team
