Green Shoots Recruitment are recruiting for a Graduate Front-End Developer in a fascinating new technology organisation. With an interesting client base you will have the opportunity to work on client project for major digital brands. A great opportunity to work with a team delivering the latest Web 2.0 technology and breaking new ground in e-commerce. As well as good technical skills and a great portfolio you must be confident and must be a good communicator both technically and to non-technical colleagues. Ideally you will have gained experience working in a similar role but this isn’t essential but the all the key skill required are.
Key skills required:
• Fully conversant in current web standards (HTML5, CSS3, localStorage)
• Familiar with the Twitter Bootstrap CSS/JS responsive framework
• Ability to write “functional Javascript” – i.e. not just making things whizz around the page but page control and communicating with external platforms via:
o JSON
o Ajax
o RESTful web APIs (http POST/GET)
• Ability to adopt external APIs (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Paypal, etc.) into client side code
• Skilled in jQuery and jQuery mobile
• Familiar with the GitHub repository environment
Nice to have:
• Java (Maven project deployment)
• Netbeans (Development Environment)
• Apache/Tomcat web server management
• Apache Cassandra column store databases
• Photoshop/Fireworks image creation/editing
Location: Shrewsbury (currently in a rural location but looking for premises in town) So driving would be an advantage but not essential
Must be a team player with a flexible “all hands on deck” attitude required in a busy start-up.
Must perform well under pressure as many projects work to very tight deadlines with demanding clients.
Must have a desire to learn new skills and adapt to new ways of working. Salary maybe flexible if you have all the required skills and a number of years experience.
